Can you confirm there will be quests which give significant amounts of orbs Gaile? i.e. most/more than half of what you need to get a mask for a character?

Current rumour is 250 orbs for one mask, and if that's mostly coming from farming... that's rapidly becoming tiresome. Thanks!

For Tengu Day there were 3 quests that, IIRC, netted you a total of 200 Naga Fangs. That means you only had to farm 50 more of them to get the mask.....and most of those 50 you could get by killing naga while doing the quests. I would think that the Dragon Festival would be set up in a similar fashion.

Now if you want 250 of them,

100 * 2.5 = 250
2 * 2.5 = 5 Hours.

5 Hours for 1 mask.
And if you want 1 mask per character.. I'm not even gonna go that far.

And who told you that you'll have to get them all via farming ?

During the Tengu event, the Naga (or whatever it was) were available as rewards for some rather trivial quests. It took me like half an hour to get my mask.

Well 5 days and an additional week to get my mask on all of my characters I'm not worried in the least.

Not sure why it took page 4 for someone to point this out. Stop freaking out about the 250 orbs. For those that don't know the 2 new quests have nothing to do with this event, they are the canthan version of the Magi Maliquire quests in LA in Tyria. I'm sure that if there won't be quests, the "mini-games" and special pvp will reward you with orbs.
Now as for the masks. If you can only get them at the end of the event, it will probably either be like the Candy Cane weapons or like the Yule Cap event. It's true it was only there for 1 day, but at the same time it came from an event that occurred every 3 hours just like every event that GW has ever had!

On a side note...ppl are trying to trade orbs for minipets...also you can find ppl in Shing Jea monastery going through a whole lot of hours of trouble just to make a profit of 5-7k off orbs...

There sure are a TON of assumptions being made here. Keep in mind that the Tengu thing was a one-day event (AS ADVERTISED). This upcoming thing is going to last a few days, like Halloween & Wintersday. Also keep in mind that the collectors that gave out the goodies for stuff in those two events didn't show up on the first day of those events.

The bottom line is, only A-Net knows exactly how the thing is going to work, and there's no reason whatsoever to complain about what hasn't happened.

I say, sit back and enjoy the event! It should be lots of fun & if you're too lazy to go out and get 250 orbs, then maybe you're not worthy of the Dragon's Mask.

Now that the events live, people can stop crying over the rumormongerers.

1) While the emperor will only be available on the last day and only at two hour intervauls, Anet has provided a special NPC to give masks out to those who would be unable to make it that day.

2) Not willing to farm for 250 orbs? Then do the friggin' quests. The first one rewards for 40. The second one rewards for 50.

Don't know if there are more after that, as I haven't taken the time to complete it.

First quest 40, second quest 50, third quest 60, fourth quest 90.

240 Jade Wind Orbs just from the quests, the other ten are easily gotten either through a bit of farming, or as rewards in the games. ^^

their are four quests in a row first nets you 40orbs second is 50 third is 60 and last is 90
that is 240 orbs allowing you to get 1 mask

i soloed all 4 on my whammo but i wouldnt suggest soloing the last one. at the end of the first 3 quests you fight a minor grasp (i think thats what it was called) which is pretty much the same thing at the grasping darknesses from ToPK. they use the fingers of chaos skill which does different things to different classes. i actually got lucky and accidentily had a vermin farming build with glads set and didnt bother to change it aside from adding purge conditions after fighting the first one. at the end of the last quest, however, you have to fight quite a few of the lil suckers. with careful pulling they can be separated, but im sure its MUCH faster to just group up for that last quest.

the quests were laughable, they each took 5 minutes max, and that included a lot of running...they should just give us the 240 jade orbs if they're going to make it that easy
